October 2026 Update

Some tough news this time, plus a new plan lineup. Here's everything that changed and what it means for you.

⚠️ Changes to pricing data

TCGplayer has changed how outside apps can access their data. As of October 14, two things tcgsearch relies on have changed:

• Near Mint pricing only. Condition-based pricing is no longer available anywhere on tcgsearch. Card details, binders, the calculator, trades, scanning, and print labels all show Near Mint prices.

• Prices update once a day instead of in real time.

What isn't changing: completed trade history stays exactly as it was recorded, conditions included. Your cards, quantities, trades, and shop settings are untouched.

We didn't choose this, and losing condition pricing hurts. It's a core part of what tcgsearch is. But adapting is what lets us keep running.

🃏 For Collectors

Binders

Binder exports now pull every card at Near Mint pricing.

Collector replaces Pro

Collector ($9.99/mo) is our new personal plan. It includes:

• Price history

• Graded eBay listings

• Binder export and master sets

• Unlimited binders

• 2,000 scans per month

• A shop added to your plan at no extra cost

More for Free accounts

• 150 scans per month (was 40)

• 5 binders (was 2)

Already on Pro?

You've been moved to Collector and you keep your $2.99 price. You don't need to do anything, and you won't be charged again.

• The one real change: scanning is no longer unlimited. You now have 2,000 scans a month.

• Your $2.99 rate lasts as long as your subscription stays active. If you cancel and come back later, you'll pay the current price.

🏪 For Shops

Bigger scan pools, same prices

• Shop Pro ($49.99/mo): 5,000 scans (was 1,000)

• Shop Max ($99.99/mo): 10,000 scans (was 2,500)

• New shops get a 30-day free trial with no card required. Scans are capped at 500 during the trial.

• If you're still on your trial, add a card before it ends or the subscription will be cancelled.

Shop Free

Shop Free is closed to new sign-ups. Existing free shops keep working exactly as before.

Pricing in trades and print runs

New trades and print run labels now use Near Mint prices.

Joining a shop?

The shop's plan covers you, but your own Collector subscription keeps billing until you cancel it under Profile → Billing.

📸 Scan limits

Every plan now has a monthly scan limit, and limits reset on the 1st of each month.

• Free: 150

• Collector: 2,000

• Shop Pro: 5,000

• Shop Max: 10,000

Good to know

• A failed payment won't lock you out right away. Update your card from the billing page.

• Cancelling never deletes your binders, trades, or shop settings.

Months of work just shipped. Big rebuilds in search, binders, trades, and the entire shop experience, plus a few new tools you've been asking for

You can now scan any card and get a match in seconds. Tap the camera icon in the search bar and give it a try!

This one's an early access feature for Shops and Pros for now. It's already quick and accurate, but any feedback is appreciated. If a match looks off, tap Report a problem and let us know!

• One-tap capture: no typing, no set codes

• Smart suggestions when the first match isn't quite right

• Pick printing, language, and condition right from the result

• Scan from a calculator or trade and the card drops straight into your list

Monthly scan limits (resets the 1st):

• Pro users: unlimited

• Free shop: 250 scans

• Shop Pro: 1,000 scans

• Shop Max: 2,500 scans

Shop owners can keep track of their usage by going to their shop settings and clicking the "Usage" tab. Owners can also buy more scans for their shop and team from this page.

🃏 For Collectors

Search filters, rebuilt

• Multi-select sets: Filter Vivid Voltage and Brilliant Stars at the same time

• Price range filter: find that $10–20 sweet spot fast

• Active filter chips: every filter you apply shows up as a removable pill, so you can see what's on and clear it with one tap

Card pages got a redesign

Same page you know, sharper layout. The most useful info sits at the top now.

• Easier nav: quick links back to the set or TCG, no back button needed

• Price trend pill: a green or red badge tells you if a card's moving up or down vs. recent sales

• Top 3 TCGPlayer listings: the cheapest live listings for your printing, condition, and language, right on the page

Price Gainers on the homepage

The homepage now shows the cards with the biggest price moves over the past 7 days. Switch tabs between Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and One Piece to see top movers in each game.

If you're a vendor, collector, or just curious, this is your new morning check.

Binders: bulk editing

Long-press a card or tap the new Select button to enter Selection Mode.

• Bulk Collect / Uncollect: flip the collected status on dozens of cards at once

• Bulk Move: shift a batch into another binder

• Bulk Remove: clean house in one go

• Press Esc to exit any time

CSV Export (Pro & Shop). One click from Settings exports your binder with name, set, set number, TCG, condition, collected status, and current market price.

Quality-of-life

• Back-to-top button on long pages: fly back up with one tap

• eBay sold listings filter on card pages: toggle between graded and ungraded sold prices

• eBay listings query is less restrictive. Expect better matches, especially on hard-to-find cards

• Overall design enhancements to design across the site.
